Foundation of CWBEMC

Since its establishment in 2021, the Child Wellbeing Media Center has been passionately dedicated to promoting child safety and empowering women through a range of impactful advocacy programs and targeted project interventions. Our multifaceted approach encompasses media engagement, psychosocial support, legal assistance, medical aid, and economic empowerment initiatives.

Beyond our direct interventions, we actively foster community engagement and stakeholder dialogue on critical issues such as child protection, rights, girls’ education, gender-based violence, harmful traditional practices such as early and forced marriage, female genital mutilation/cutting, child trafficking, and women’s economic empowerment. Through thoughtfully curated events, we strive to create spaces where meaningful conversations can take place, driving positive change and promoting awareness.

With a particular focus on child protection and combatting gender-based violence, the organization has made significant contributions to preventing and reducing instances of child abuse and exploitation. We provide comprehensive support to victims, including vital medical care, psychosocial assistance, educational opportunities, legal aid, and economic empowerment initiatives. Through our integrated approach, we have successfully helped thousands of survivors of gender-based violence recover from trauma, reconnect with education, and find pathways to sustainable livelihoods, including self-employment and job placement.

Our impact extends further as we extend medical, emotional, legal, and economic support to 1600 sexually abused girls and women. Additionally, in collaboration with corporate private business organizations and individual philanthropists we have equipped 400 survivors of GBV with financial literacy and business development training, coupled with startup funds to facilitate their journey towards self-sufficiency. The results have been profound, enabling these resilient women to establish their own income-generating activities and secure employment opportunities through market linkages with private companies.

Moreover, we recognize the importance of supporting young girls who have dropped out of school. To this end, we provide them with vocational training tailored to their interests, empowering them to pursue decent jobs in various fields such as hairdressing, garmenting, finishing works, and food preparation. Furthermore, we diligently work in underserved rural areas, where access to quality education, clean water, and healthcare facilities is lacking, striving to bridge these gaps and uplift communities.

At the Child Wellbeing Media Center, we are committed to creating lasting change, safeguarding children, and empowering women. Through our comprehensive range of interventions, we seek to build a more equitable and inclusive society, where every child is protected, and every woman has the opportunity to thrive.
